چکیده

To efficiently plan future personal communications services (PCS’s), we need to solve various mobility/traffic problems in one-dimensional (1-D), two-dimensional (2-D), and threedimensional (3-D) micro or picocell environments. However, mobility/traffic problems have thus far primarily been studied in 1-D and 2-D cell structures. In this paper, we extend the previous mobility modeling from 1-D or 2-D space to 3-D indoor building environments by considering the proper boundary conditions on each floor and analytically modeling mobility in multistory buildings to estimate the number of handoffs. We then propose a blocking probability model with mobility as a traffic model in 3-D indoor environments. Utilizing this model, we can obtain the required number of channels per cell under the given blocking probability constraint. These results can be utilized in planning the networks of future PCS’s.

Mobility modeling and traffic analysis in three-dimensional high-rise building environments

To efficiently plan future personal communications services, we need to solve various mobility/traffic problems in onedimensional (1-D), two-dimensional (2-D), and three-dimensional (3-D) microor pico-cell environments. Although many users exhibit vertical motion inside elevators in high-rise buildings, there have been no studies regarding cell planning which take into account vertical motion w...

کاربرد روش معادله سهموی در تحلیل مسائل انتشار امواج داخل ساختمان

With the rapid growth of indoor wireless communication systems, the need to accurately model radio wave propagation inside the building environments has increased. Many site-specific methods have been proposed for modeling indoor radio channels. Among these methods, the ray tracing algorithm and the finite-difference time domain (FDTD) method are the most popular ones. The ray tracing approach ...

Three-Dimensional Modeling and Indoor Positioning for Urban Emergency Response

Three-dimensional modeling of building environments and indoor positioning is essential for emergency response in cities. Traditional ground-based measurement methods, such as geodetic astronomy, total stations, and global positioning system (GPS) receivers, cannot meet the demand for high precision positioning and it is therefore essential to conduct multiple-angle data-acquisition and establi...

Context-aware Modeling for Spatio-temporal Data Transmitted from a Wireless Body Sensor Network

Context-aware systems must be interoperable and work across different platforms at any time and in any place. Context data collected from wireless body area networks (WBAN) may be heterogeneous and imperfect, which makes their design and implementation difficult. In this research, we introduce a model which takes the dynamic nature of a context-aware system into consideration. This model is con...
